WHO reports a first globally confirmed human case of Avian Influenza A(H5N5) in the United States of America, identified in mid-November 2025. This represents the first confirmed human case of influenza A(H5) reported in the country since February 2025. Contact tracing has identified no further cases among contacts, and investigation by U.S. health authorities is ongoing.
