Ethiopia's Ministry of Health declared the end of the Marburg virus disease outbreak on 26 January 2026, following two consecutive incubation periods without new confirmed cases. The outbreak involved both confirmed and probable cases, with all probable cases resulting in deaths. The declaration followed WHO recommendations and safe burial practices for the final confirmed case.
