Multi-country recalls have been initiated after the toxin was detected in batches of multiple internationally distributed brands. Investigations identified arachidonic acid oil used in the implicated products as the source of contamination, though the full root cause analysis and complete traceability of affected batches remain under investigation. Contaminated formulae, nutritional products, and oil mixes have been distributed across multiple WHO Regions.
